A story I would like to share with you.
This story is from one of my kindergarten groups.
One of the steps we do in group is creating words with letters.
Let's say there are the letters o, i, sh, t, p, and d at the top of their "soundboard."
I say each sound, they bring down the letter that corresponds with the sound,
and they say the word.
This group includes 3 girls and 2 boys.
One girl is completely naive. She is precious, boisterous, and moody. BAH!
So we are spelling the word "shot."
They bring down all the letters that make the word "shot" and this girl
(the one I mentioned above),
matter-of-factly says:
"If we change the o to an i it would say shit."
I thought I was going to die laughing.
The two boys next to her start laughing.
The girls have no idea what they are laughing about.
Neither does the girl who just said shit.
So I look at her, doing my best not to laugh or smile and say,
"yes. yes it does. now sweep up the word shot and spell wish."
Oh. man. It was funny.
